Document Classification Service

AI based language understanding methods have made significant advances in recent years. Our online service utilizes modern machine learning methods in order to automatically classify text into various categories or topics.

Bibliographic Text Classification

In order to organize knowledge for easy access by students, researches and the general public, libraries use detailed category systems:

  • Our classification system distinguishes more than 8.000 different topics (broadly covering subjects in mathematics, history, economy, law, medicine and more), e.g. the Regensburger Association Classification or the Dutch Basic Classification
  • Automatic classification helps to reduce costs by supporting the otherwise manual annotation process that often requires expert knowledge.

Our classification models are trained on millions of examples extracted from over 30GB of public data provided by German libraries.

Other Scenarios

Beyond libraries, automatic document classification can be used in various scenarios.

  • Classification of customer feedback in order to, e.g., automate responding to frequently asked questions, pre-sorting customer inquiries for various departments (sales, billing, support), or monitoring of customer satisfaction
  • Labeling and organizing large document collections, e.g., in legal case preparation, police investigations or when assessing applications for tenders.
