User Focused Development

Our work is centered around the users of an IT system, since users often decide over the success or failure of a project.

For this reason, we follow the strategy to involve users right from the start of the development process, e.g., by regularly providing intermediate results for testing and evaluation.

At the same time, important cross-sectional tasks must not be neglected, in particular aspects of security, maintenance, and cost efficiency.

Agile, but with a Plan

An agile and flexible software development can significantly accelerate the development process and prevent a possible bad awaking at the end of a project in comparison to traditional rigid project planning.

On the other hand, an excessive agility without sufficient prioritization and regular reevaluation can easily lead to losing sight of essential project goals.

As a consequence, we strive for a project-dependent balance between agility and planning. Some critical but often unpopular tasks, e.g., maintenance tasks to reduce technical debt, must not be neglected for the sole purpose of agility and quick progress, which in most cases will not pay off in the long run.

Sustainability in Software Development

Sustainability shapes our future, and therefore, must also be addressed in the area of software development. To accomplish that, sustainability has to be approached from many perspectives, which almost always lead to positive effects both for you as a customer and our environment:

• The technical sustainability targets the longevity and maintainability of software, which ultimately reduces both costs and required resources in an ever evolving IT landscape.
• The economic facet of sustainability focuses on the ability of an IT solution to create long‑term value. Developing a technology that adds long‑term value is a profitable investment in our future.
• The ecological dimension deals with the protection and preservation of natural resources, e.g., by reducing the CO2 output through energy‑efficient algorithms, which will also lead to a reduction of ongoing costs of an IT system.
